Role: Maintenance Fitter We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment. This role involves performing regular maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure all equipment functions at optimal levels.
Days and Hours of Work: Typical hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9:30 pm during the production season and 8:30am to 5pm in the off-season. As the site operates 24/7, flexibility may be necessary outside these hours to complete repairs.
Duties of the Role:
• Carry out the workload allocated by the Maintenance Planner and Maintenance Coordinator
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Respond to plant breakdowns as a priority
• Monitor the condition of all plant and equipment
• Investigate unexpected wear and failures, identifying root causes
• Proactively suggest modifications and upgrades to reduce breakdowns
• Use the CMMS system to record tasks and enter history and repair usage
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safe working practices
• Coordinate with Site Engineers and Contract Engineering Services and Suppliers
• Perform industrial equipment maintenance and some fabrication work, including welding, as required
• Proactively monitor maintenance requirements
• Maintain a tidy maintenance workshop and welding bay
• Assess plant downtime reasons and implement remedial support to bring the plant back into production
• Liaise with quality management staff to ensure work does not impact quality
• Attend and participate in daily toolbox talks/planning meetings
The successful applicant will need the following:
• Valid NZ work permit or residency
• A mechanical or electrical trade qualification
• Proven mechanical fitting experience
• Welding and fabrication (stainless)
• Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry
• Experience with CMMS systems
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude combined with good problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement work ethic
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

We have an opening for a Production Operator to help us run our brand new Dicing lines and Optical Sorters, as well as operating state of the art Decanting and Evaporating systems here at JPNZ.

The Role
The role involves operating a range of plant, equipment, and machinery during 12-hour shifts in a modern processing facility. The role is based on the night shift on a 12 hr 4 x4 roster. Full training and safety equipment will be provided.
We are looking for: A night shift Trainee Operator with shifts starting at 5.45pm to 6am
Responsibilities:
• Operate production equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Monitor production processes to ensure that they are running smoothly
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during production
• Perform routine maintenance on production equipment
• Ensure that products meet quality standards
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
• Maintain accurate production records
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production targets
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes
The successful candidate must be a NZ resident or have an appropriate work visa and will have:
• The “Right Attitude”
• The ability to read and follow Safety instructions and S.O.P’s, and help create them
• A willingness to learn new skills and equipment in a hands-on production environment
• A team player mentality, prepared to muck in and succeed as a team
• Experience in manufacturing processes, and an understanding of quality systems
• A questioning mind, asking the right questions to ensure our products stay the best
• A good level of physical fitness - not everything is automated, and computer controlled
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• The ability to communicate at a high level in a noisy environment, both written and verbal
• A high level of reliability & time management
• Ownership of their role
Desired (but not essential) skills/experience also includes:
• Supervisory experience
• Scada control systems experience
• Forklift license and driving experience
• Food manufacturing experience
